Biography
Robert was born in Toronto, Canada and trained at Canada’s National Ballet School. He has created works for The National Ballet of Canada, The Royal Ballet, Wayne McGregor | Random Dance, the German National Youth Ballet (second company of the Hamburg Ballet), New York City Ballet’s Choreographic Institute and Ballet Black, among others.
Robert shadowed John Neumeier, director of the Hamburg Ballet, through the creation of a new ballet in the spring of 2011. In the summer of 2011, Robert participated in DanceLines, a choreographic development initiative led by Wayne McGregor at the Royal Opera House. In January 2012, Robert was appointed the first-ever Royal Ballet Choreographic Apprentice. In this position, Robert has been mentored by Wayne McGregor and has had the opportunity to work with both The Royal Ballet and Wayne McGregor | Random Dance on a variety of projects.
Robert joined The National Ballet of Canada in the newly-created position of Choreographic Associate in June 2013.
